It is a very curious thing, I think, to Like. What is it? To like? Now I don't mean, just to like something or someone as a simple liking or fancy, but I mean, to Like Like someone. Ah, now you see what I am saying!
Like love, Liking is universal. But I would certainly not give the two the same definition. At first thought, one might say that Liking only flourishes within the youth of the world (i.e. any and all persons ranging roughly within the ages of 12-20). But think again and you'll discover that Liking is everywhere! In all age groups. It is a rare case that a person goes a whole lifetime and avoids Liking someone. It seems hardly possible for one to go even through high school without Liking . . .
So, what IS it, to Like? Is it an emotion? Hormones? A simple attraction? Is it the first seeds of love, or maybe, well, I just can't quite put my finger on it!
We are so funny, us humans. How is it that a boy, let's say, can have so many friends that are girls, and appreciate each one of them. There is not a bad thing he can say about a one of them. They are all wonderful. But there is this one! Oh, boy! Now SHE'S wonderful!!! And all of a sudden, too! And, ah! Now, he Likes her. Does he like her because she's prettier than the other girls? No, because she's not. Maybe because she and him agree on a lot of things? Possibly, but he agrees with the other girls on a lot of things, too. Maybe he Likes her because she says and does things that flatters him; Makes him feel like he's got it all together? Hm.
Does this boy even KNOW this girl that well? No, not too well, but he knows he Likes her. She's just special.
But my question IS, WHAT is that "specialness". How did this boy go from one day thinking she's wonderful and liking her a lot, to, the next day, thinking she's wonderful and Liking her a lot?!
Do you suppose that different people have different definitions of Like? Do certain people make conscious decisions to Like someone while others just "go with the flow" ? Is Liking just a feeling? If so, how is it that so often two people will Like each other? How would they both get the feeling at the same time?
Liking seems to often lead to love, but what about when it doesn't? We all know that it is possible to stop Liking someone, but I'm not so sure it is possible to stop loving someone. Why did God give us this peculiar little thing?
I dunno . . . What do YOU think?

Picturesque
Hm, Is it just me, or does everyone want to be, as I would call it, "Picturesque" sometimes? What is "Picturesque" ? Well, I mean to say, do you ever just feel like feeling like something? Do you ever do something just so you can do it, and feel so picture-perfect doing it?
Here's an example. Picture a thin woman in a 1940's style cocktail dress early in the morning in a sort of old, grungy-looking, but clean apartment. What do you see her doing? Obviously, you, or at least I, would picture her stepping out onto her balcony, or down onto her small front steps with a cup of black coffee to smoke a cigarette. It's just perfect. Ah! Or how about this! Coffee house. What comes to mind? Well, what I would picture is a somewhat cozy, dim-lit coffee shop with big, stiff chairs, and in the corner, on a stool, a young woman with long, brown, wavy hair, (loosely tied back, of course) boot leg jeans, a dressy, flowy shirt, and maybe a couple bracelets, playing some calm, slow-paced song on an acoustic guitar, and singing in a rather whispery voice. Again, perfect! I guess maybe some people would call these things stereo types. But I don't know if I would. I mean, I suppose they would, since these are so easy to imagine . . .
But sometimes I just get the strongest urges to do those things; To be "Picturesque". I just really feel like feeling like that.... Just so I can feel what it feels like! And I've begun to do it too! Ha ha, like the other day when I bought my first pack of cigarettes. I was wearing the PERFECT cigarette-buying outfit. It was so exciting! Ha ha! Baggy, long, sweat pants, a semi-junky T shirt, flip flops, and a messy, high pony tail. I felt so picturesque!!!
My question is, do you ever do, or want to do things that would be picturesque?
I wonder if being picturesque is easier for people who haven't really discovered who they are yet. Would someone who is set and confident in themselves want to do and feel like different things/people/stereotypes?
Do people who we see and think "they are Picturesque" KNOW that they are?
. . . . I dunno. . . . What do YOU think?

Introductory
Why hello!
I have decided to start blogging. What about? Oh, different things, anything, a little bit of everything!
Since this is just the introduction, this post will be short. I just wanted to sort of lay out for the readers what exactly my goal is for this blog.
So! Here goes!
I suppose the title of my blog, "Philosophical Curiosities and Such" rather explains it. I often find myself thinking . . . and thinking . . . and thinking!!! I always seem to be having such inspirations! Such questions! Such ideas! But alas, I can hardly share them with as many people as I would like, and I would like to share them with a lot!!
My aim for this blog is not simply to be a comedy for people to read whenever they are bored, or a boring biography of me, but rather I would like it to be a discussion board. A place where people can come and actually think about things. Or at least read about things to think about. I am so curious about people and what they think, and their views on things, nothing specific or too intense, just things! Because this world is so exciting! And everyone in it is different! And what is great it that we all have intellects and we are all capable of using them! So yes, basically what I am trying to get at is this: In this blog I am going to be posting my inspirations and curiosities and questions. Then I will, of course have a definite opinion on the topic (well usually). Then, I want you (if you want!) to philosophize with me and see what sorts of answers we can come up with! Just know this, I'm not writing my opinions to make a statement, because I know I don't have all the answers. I am completely open to other opinions and in fact WANT to hear yours! Because that's what this blog is all about. Ha ha. Just bear with me and know that I am not a very concise writer and can get rather carried away.
Yes, yes, I think that is all!
So what do you think? Is this a good idea? Yes? No? Maybe? Let me know!
Yes, well, thank you for reading, and hopefully my first real post will be up soon!
